Position:       Partnership Mortgage & Protection Adviser

 

Company:                  Just Mortgages

 

Reports to:                Divisional Sales Director

 

PURPOSE:

 

  • To generate revenue and product sales in line with the Just Mortgages’ business plan in a professional and compliant manner

 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Provide professional mortgage and protection advice to clients of Just Mortgages and the Spicerhaart Group of companies

 

  • Work as integral part of the estate agency team, training, coaching and motivating all staff to identify and maximise mortgage opportunities as early as possible in the housing sales process in order to secure sufficient mortgage appointments to achieve the following Key Performance Indicators:

 

  • 10 new first appointments per week
  • 1:4 sign up conversion to first appointments

 

  • 2 mortgages per week submitted (minimum standard)
  • Total Life to Mortgage penetration 90% (inc IPB)

 

  • General Insurance to Mortgage penetration 60%

 

  • Income Protection Benefit/Lifestyle penetration 30%
  • Fees to Mortgages penetration 90%

 

  • Legals to Mortgages penetration 50%

 

 

  • Act as a champion for the Fully Protected Mortgage and ensure that every customer benefits from this service

 

  • Ensure all personal business targets are exceeded

 

  • Promote a consistent, high quality, customer-focused approach to business processes , ensuring that the principles of Treating Customers Fairly (TCF) are adhered to at all times together with the companies compliance procedures

 

  • Develop strong and effective working relationships with other members of the Just Mortgages sales team

 

  • Adopt the business development initiatives and sales processes introduced by the company

 

 

 

  • Promote all other products and services offered through the Spicerhaart Group Maintain a thorough understanding of Openwork Advice Standards and Operating Procedures and Just Mortgages internal standards. In practice, apply these procedures in order to deliver appropriate and affordable advice to all clients ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

 

  • Maintain an excellent understanding of mortgage products and Legal & General’s protection and general insurance products

 

  • At all times work within the guidelines of the prescribed Openwork Network Adviser Performance Management Scheme

 

  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance, and conduct all dealings with colleagues, external business partners and Just Mortgages clients in a professional, courteous and helpful manner in order to maintain and enhance the image of the company for the benefit of all parties concerned.

 

  • Create the culture and environment to underpin and support the Group’s core values;

FUNCTIONAL KNOWLEDGE

 

  • An excellent knowledge and understanding of mortgage products and Legal & General’s protection and general insurance products

 

  • Knowledge of all house purchase/move related secondary services such as Conveyancing and Estate Agency operations generally

 

  • A good level of technical and e-commerce knowledge to promote the services of Just Mortgages efficiently and effectively

 

  • A knowledge of all Financial Services compliance rules and regulations
  • An understanding of working within a Training and Competence framework

GENERAL BACKGROUND, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • 6 months experience as a Mortgage Adviser / Financial Advisor or related role with experience of mortgages and associated products

 

  • Awareness of latest products and market developments

 

  • Relevant Professional qualifications to fulfil the role e.g. Certificate in Financial Planning, Certificate in Mortgage advice and practice (CeMAP) or industry recognised industry equivalent
